Institutional Research & Effectiveness

The mission of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Planning is to create a culture of evidence within Southside Virginia Community College.  Our goal is to collect meaningful, needed data and empower SVCC’s leaders to make informed decisions with that evidence.  This culture also includes conducting regular and meaningful assessments of all academic programs and administrative and student support services.  The results are made available for administrators, faculty, and other stakeholders for the purpose of effective institutional planning.  This process is ongoing and is designed to assist the institution in completing its mission and ensuring student success.  For more information about institutional research and effectiveness practices, including program and administrative unit assessment, please consult SVCC's Institutional Effectiveness Framework.
