Quick Start:
How to Apply and Register
The following outlines the basic steps involved in Admission and Registration at all Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) locations. Phrases printed in blue link to additional information.

If you have not already done it, complete an application for admission and submit it to the SVCC. You can apply for admissions online. |

Apply for Financial Aid. |

Submit official transcripts if you are a high school/GED graduate and will be pursuing an associate’s degree or a nursing degree or certificate. If you would like previous college credits to be evaluated for transfer into a SVCC program, have official college transcripts sent to Admissions & Records Office for all colleges attended. |

Schedule and complete placement testing. |

After completing placement testing, schedule an appointment with a counselor to assist you with your first course selections. You will be assigned a faculty advisor to assist you with future registrations. |

Register for classes online or at any one of our locations. |

All registered students will be assigned an email account. If you are having problems with that account, get assistance at our helpdesk. |

Pay tuition and fees by the tuition due dates, either in person or online via MySVCC. You can also apply for our Nelnet tuition payment plan. |
