Vincent Brown, from South Hill, graduated from Park View High School. After high school, he attended Southside Virginia Community College where he earned his Associates of Applied Science in Electronics Technology.
Claudia Taylor graduated from J. R. Tucker High School in Richmond, Virginia. Her mother was in the military so she has lived in many places. Claudia decided that she wanted to move to a community that was small and a place she could call home. She moved to Crewe and has never looked back.
Gloria Oliver Parham grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Cleveland High School. In August 2011, she returned to college and attended Southside Virginia Community College. She graduated with honors with two Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Administration of Justice in May 2013.
Shantel Epps, born in New York City, began her journey at Southside Virginia Community College by earning her GED. She continued at SVCC, completing an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree in General Studies/Human Services. While at SVCC, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa (an honors society) and served as Vice President of the Empowered Women Club.
James Cutcliff grew up in Emporia, Virginia and graduated from Greensville County High School. After high school, he attended Southside Virginia Community College and earned his Career Studies Certificate in Truck Driving, in which he was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for having a 4.0 grade point average.
Travis Songer grew up in Huddleston, Virginia and graduated from Staunton River High School. After high school, he attended Southside Virginia Community College and earned his Career Studies Certificate in Automotive Technology.
John Johnson grew up in various places due to his father's employment, with his earliest memories being of South Hill. He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School before attending Southside Virginia Community College.
Sarah Smith, originally from Lunenburg County, graduated from Central High School in Victoria. She earned her Nurse Aide career studies certificate from Southside Virginia Community College.
Candi Pearson grew up in Lawrenceville, VA and graduated from Brunswick High School. She attended Southside Virginia Community College's Practical Nursing program at the Estes Community Center in Chase City and was on the President's List.
Belinda Dickerson grew up near Emporia, Virginia helping her grandparents farm tobacco, peanuts, corn and cotton. She dropped out of school at the age of sixteen. But, after much pushing and encouragement from a brother, she returned to school at the age of thirty to earn her GED.
