Joshua Worrell, a homeschool graduate from Nottoway County, earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree from Southside Virginia Community College.
Trina Reavis, a Brunswick County native and 1990 Brunswick Senior High School graduate, earned a certificate in Early Childhood Development from Southside Virginia Community College.
Megan Hathaway grew up in Charlotte County, Virginia and graduated from Randolph Henry High School. She earned a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Southside Virginia Community College and became a CNA in 2009, the same year she graduated high school. She later returned to SVCC and completed her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 2016.
From South Hill, Virginia, Lindsey Smiley Dawson enrolled at Southside Virginia Community College after graduating from Park View High School in 2002. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Administration of Justice, as well a Career Studies Certificate in Forensics Science from SVCC. While an SVCC student, she became a member of Phi Theta Kappa and held the position of Vice President of Leadership.
Gregory Reed grew up in Charlotte Court House, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Henry High School. He earned his Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology from Southside Virginia Community College and completed the IT Academy at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in partnership with SVCC in South Boston.
Anita White, a life-long resident of Lunenburg County, and familiar face on the John H. Daniel campus, graduated from Prince Edward Academy before attending business school. She was hired by Southside Virginia Community College in 1971 as a secretary to the faculty.
Josh Starner earned an Agribusiness Career Studies Certificate from SVCC. While taking online classes he accepted a management position with Home Depot in West Virginia. He departed that career to become a full-time student, transferring from SVCC to Virginia Tech, completing a bachelor's degree in Applied Economic Management. He has since been accepted into the Masters of Geography program at Tech.
A wizard on the basketball court while growing up, Craig McCargo has always had his eyes focused on his goals. He grew up in South Boston and graduated from Halifax County High School in 2005 before signing a D1 basketball scholarship to attend Virginia Military Institute.
Elana White had her first taste of the nursing profession through a Southside Virginia Community College dual enrollment Nurse Aide class she took at Bluestone HighSchool. When she graduated high school in 2014, she had also earned a Career Studies Certificate in Nurse Aide and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies from SVCC.
Amber Pero grew up in Alexandria, Virginia until she started high school when her family moved to Stafford, Virginia. She graduated from Heritage High School in Leesburg.
