A Central High School graduate from Kenbridge, Virginia, Ashley Williams was a very engaged Southside Virginia Community College student.
Her SVCC journey began as a dual-enrollment high school student when she completed a Nurse Aide Career Studies Certificate. After high school, she continued her SVCC studies, completing certificates in General Education and Practical Nursing, as well an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree. Ashley also was an active member of several student clubs.
Since graduating from SVCC, Ashley has become a Licensed Practical Nurse and is continuing her educational quest. She transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University and completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Ashley is also interning at the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation.
Ashley encourages SVCC students to be involved and make use of the College's many resources. "At SVCC I was a part of Student Ambassadors, Transfer Club, Student Activities Team, and Minority Club. Being a part of these groups helped me make friends, be more involved in student activities, and have fun. Use the resources that are provided to you on campus such as the Comprehensive Writing Center and the Math Lab. I spent the majority of my time in these two places receiving tutoring and writing services. These services have helped me along my educational journey."
