Alumni Spotlight - Dawn Flippin


Dawn Flippin



A Randolph-Henry High School graduate, Dawn Flippin earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics from Southside Virginia Community College.


With 27 years of experience in corrections, Dawn is a major at one of the largest jails in Virginia, Riverside Regional Jail in Prince George. She also enjoys teaching new staff as a general instructor. She is currently enrolled at St. Leo University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justices.


Dawn reflects, "SVCC is a very family oriented college. It allows so many students from different backgrounds and educations to come together as one big family. The professors took a great deal of pride in their job of educating us. There was not a time that I can recall that one of my professors was not willing to assist any of us."
