Dorothea Sizemore's family relocated from Washington, D.C. to Drakes Branch, VA when she began middle school. She graduated from Randolph-Henry High School before earning an Associate of Applied Science in Secretarial Science and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies from Southside Virginia Community College.
After graduating from SVCC, Dorothea transferred to Old Dominion University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Counseling. She then completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle.
Dorothea is currently the Interim Dean of Enrollment Management at SVCC, where she also works as an adjunct instructor in Human Services. She plans to continue in the higher education field and to complete a post-graduate certificate or degree.
Sharing her thoughts on choosing SVCC as a student, Dorothea says, "Attending SVCC was the best decision I could have ever made for myself and family. SVCC gave me the opportunity to remain in my community and earn an excellent education. The faculty, staff, and administrators truly cared about my success. I would not have been able to succeed without their continued support and encouragement."
