After losing her job due to a business closure, Frankie Taylor wanted to return to school to enable her pursuit of a career in a "helping field." "I love finding remedies for people's problems. When I do, I forget my own," she says with a laugh.
A South Hill, VA native and Park View High School graduate, Frankie found the individual attention and helping hands she was looking for at Southside Virginia Community College. With guidance from the College's counselors and advisors, she enrolled in the Human Services program and earned her Associate of Applied Science degree.
Frankie is now the one extending a helping hand as a Direct Support Provider at Southside Community Services Board's John H. Northington Center. The center, which is one of the three Creative Innovation centers, offers Developmental Day Support program services for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
When not enjoying time with family, friends and church activities, Frankie continues to find joy in supporting others as a GED Instructional Aid for Southside Virginia Community College.
