Katie Shook, a Charlotte County native, grew up in Keysville and graduated from Randolph Henry High School. In her junior and senior years of high school, she was selected for and attended Governor's School at Southside Virginia Community College, where she formed lasting friendships with classmates from other area high schools.
After completion of SVCC's Governor's School, Katie transferred as a junior to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. While at VCU, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, minoring in Biology and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Even before finishing her Doctorate, Katie became employed by Rehab Associates of Central Virginia in Brookneal, where she is still currently employed.
Katie says one of her fondest memories of SVCC is from dissecting frogs and cow eyeballs in Biology class. As for where and what she is doing today, "I'm so glad to be back, serving the area I grew up in. I absolutely love my job and getting to help people each day get back to their daily lives!"
