Samuel Gill grew up in La Crosse, VA and graduated from Park View High School. After high school, he attended Southside Virginia Community College, where he participated in the Foundation Honors Program and completed several programs of study.
Sam earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics; Career Studies Certificates in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and National Electrical Code; a Certificate in Applied Electricity; and a Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Diploma.
Since graduating from SVCC, Sam has been working full-time and receiving continuing education on the job. He is currently employed as an Electrician Apprentice also working with heating and air. Once his necessary experience hours are completed, he will take the National Electrical Code exam to obtain his license.
Sam enjoyed his time at SVCC and says, " The instructors were eager to help in any way they could when I had a question. Also, the hands-on education contributed to learning and a better understanding of industrial industry needs in the workforce, giving a good foundation to start a career."
