SVCC Website Server Maintenance

The company that hosts the web server for SVCC has scheduled maintenance for 7pm on Saturday, March 7th.  There is the potential that the college website could be unavailable for up to 2 hours during this time.  MySVCC, SIS, and Blackboard will not be impacted and will all still be available, just not accessible through the SVCC website.  If there is a website outage, and you need to get to SIS or Blackboard, this is the url you can use that will take you directly to the MySVCC log-in area. Please make note of this so that you will have this web address at a later time.

SVCC Drops OT Heartbreaker

The Southside Virginia Community College men’s basketball team, the three-time defending VCCS champions, gave visiting Davidson County (NC) CC, the ninth-ranked team in the NJCAA national poll, all they wanted on Saturday afternoon before falling 126-121 in overtime .

The win improved Davidson County to 21-3 on the season while the loss snapped SVCC’s seven-game winning streak and dropped the local team to 11-6.

SVCC Wins Seventh Straight

The Southside Virginia Community College men’s basketball team ran its winning streak to seven games after recording a pair of victories at home over the weekend. SVCC topped the Bryant & Stratton College junior varsity team 92-77 on Saturday and followed that up with a 101-86 win over Stillwater Christian Prep on Sunday afternoon.

SVCC Wins on Buzzer Beater

Marcus Hoosier’s tip-in just before the final buzzer sounded allowed the Southside Virginia Community College men’s basketball team to outlast Mount Zion Academy Prep 106-104 in a road contest on Thursday night.

The victory was the eighth for SVCC in the past nine games and improved the local team to 9-5 on the season.

SVCC got off to a great start in the game jumping out to a 12-3 lead on Tevin Holloway’s second trey of the night at the 16:32 mark.
