New Student Orientation

SVCC welcomed nearly 300 new Panthers and their family members to campus. Did you miss the summer session of New Student Orientation? Don't worry NSO2GO will be held on Aug. 7th (CHR) and Aug. 8th (DAN) at 9:30 am in Student Services. No registration is required.

Alumni Spotlight - Helen Lin

Helen Lin grew up in Keysville, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Henry High School. Throughout high school, Helen took Southside Virginia Community College's dual enrollment classes at Randolph-Henry, and attended the Governor’s School of Southside Virginia in her junior and senior years.

Alumni Spotlight - Sherry V. Melvin

y V. Melvin grew up in South Boston, Virginia and graduated from Halifax County High School. She chose to attend Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) because of its beautiful campus, small class sizes, and the quality of its nursing program. She earned an associate degree in general studies from SVCC, as well as beginning the College's nursing program.

Alumni Spotlight - George Sandridge

George Sandridge grew up in Keysville, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Henry High School in 2017. In his junior year of high school, George began attending the Governor's School of Southside Virginia (GSSV) on Southside Virginia Community College's John H. Daniel campus. He chose to attend GSSV for the opportunity to earn a college degree while in high school and because of the positive reviews he had heard about both GSSV and SVCC. George graduated from SVCC with an Associate of Arts and Sciences in General Studies in 2017.

Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassador program is a selective program of emerging student leaders who embody the spirit of SVCC. Student Ambassadors promote the college through recruitment and outreach, support of on-campus events and initiatives, and represent the student body on college committees.
