The 22nd Annual Taste of Brunswick Festival will be hosted on the Christanna Campus of Southside Virginia Community College on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10 am. until 4 p.m. The event is set to be held rain or shine and with the ongoing construction of the college’s new building.
Festival goers will be aware of the construction underway on the new, two-level Learning Resource Center on the campus. The 45,000 square foot, $12 million building will be home to the relocated library and have a performance space, food service area, student study and lounge areas, workout room and welcome center.
Dr. John Sykes, Jr., committee chairman for many years said, "The Committee is determined to put on a quality family fun event despite the smaller space available while construction moves forward at SVCC. We ask for the understanding of Stew masters, vendors, and attendees during this year's event."
Admission and parking is free and many stew masters claiming to be the best cooks will be around that day to offer the gastronomical delight. People can taste their favorites before the judges announce the winners.
There will be vendors, bands and plenty of fun events for the children including The Brake Tyme Band from Henderson, NC, the Appalachian Express, a car show, bouncy houses, petting zoo and food and craft vendors.
