A Brunswick County, Virginia native and Brunswick High School graduate, Kimberly Green chose Southside Virginia College because it allowed her the flexibility to stay close to home and family as well as to continue working while pursuing her education.

After earning a Practical Nursing Certificate from SVCC, Kimberly worked as an LPN in long-term care at VCU Health/Community Memorial Hospital's The Hundley Center. She is currently employed by Mediko as a Correctional Nurse at Meherrin River Regional Jail and plans to return to SVCC in the near future to complete an associate's degree in Nursing.

Kimberly says she was thoroughly prepared for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses by SVCC instructors Patricia Archer and Karen Abbett. To others she says, "My advice to all PN and RN students is when you think the journey is getting rough, just keep PUSHING and remember, 'The Road Ahead Lies Within.' "
