Virginia Department of Corrections to Degree!

CSouthside Virginia Community College is pleased to award Virginia Corrections Officers 26 college credits for successfully completing the four phase training program and receiving the BCO certification from the academy. These college credits, equivalent to 9 college classes in the Administration of Justice Program will put you half way to earning an Associates Degree. All of the remaining classes can be completed online, so they will not interfere with your demanding schedule. Credit for training, credit for academy, DOC2degree, phase IV. In addition, right now, there are more resources available to cover the cost of tuition than there ever has been. SVCC currently has G3 funding available that will cover the cost of each class (for eligible students). This funding will not last forever, so contact us today!

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) is a process that allows your training and experience to convert to college credit. This gets you ahead of the game as you skip the basics and introductions to criminal justice topics because you already know the content. Our CPL process is fast and free.
