For Classified Employees
The Department of Human Resource Management is responsible for the development, implementation, and interpretation of policies, procedures, and guidelines for classified employee compensation and classification, including wage (hourly) employees. DHRM establishes and defines the compensation plan and pay administration policies and guidelines. Additionally, compensation at SVCC is governed by the VCCS policy base.
The role of the Human Resources office in the area of compensation is to continuously review SVCC's compensation practices and actions to ensure that similarly situated employees are treated the same and that all aspects of compensation management are conducted without regard to race, color religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, or political affiliation.
