Amanda Cox, SVCC's Campus Within Walls Coordinator, and Colleen Pendry, who works with Higher Education Programs for Justice-Impacted Individuals at the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), recently visited with legislators advocating for Campus Within Walls student populations.
They were able to meet with Legislative Assistant to Delegate Hillary Kent, Dexter Lewis. Cox and Pendry were invited by the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. While in attendance, they helped facilitate a workshop on Higher Education in Prison to the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. Cox was one of 400 people in attendance at "Day for All People".
