Recently, the College honored faculty and staff members for their contributions in shaping the success of the college and its students.
In 2024, 26 employees were recognized for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30+ years of service, reflecting their enduring commitment to education, leadership, and student success. The celebration included remarks from leadership and award presentations, honoring the employees’ contributions. The college remains committed to fostering a culture of appreciation and support, ensuring that every employee feels valued for their service.
About Southside Virginia Community College
Southside Virginia Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). SVCC serves primarily the residents of the city of Emporia and the counties of Brunswick, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Greensville, Halifax (partial), Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, and Prince Edward. This represents an area of approximately 4,200 square miles. SVCC serves as a gateway to education, training, and employment opportunities by providing relevant and innovative programs responsive to the diverse communities it serves in a student-centered, inclusive learning environment.
