SVCC Expressive Activity Policy

POLICY STATEMENT

Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) upholds the freedoms of speech and expression guaranteed by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution for all members of the College community. The College is a place where all ideas and opinions may be expressed freely. The right to free speech and expression does not include unlawful activity that endangers the safety or well-being of any member of the College community. Further, it does not include any activity that interferes with the education of other students or the mission of the institution.  

In accordance with Va. Code ยง 23.1-401.1, Southside Virginia Community College certifies that it has published current and accurate information on its free speech policies and procedures and has provided them to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, the individual at the College responsible for student code of conduct issues and related disciplinary actions.
