Administrative Support and Student Services

Southside Virginia Community College coordinates a college-wide departmental (administrative) assessment annually.   The department assessments are oriented toward measuring results through ongoing assessment activities and using those results to aid in decision-making and improvement. It is a systematic and on-­going procedure of collecting, interpreting, and acting on information relating to the goals and outcomes developed to support the program’s or unit’s mission and purposes.

 

Steps of SVCC’s Departmental Annual Assessment is to:

  1. Identify departmental outcomes;
  2. Select methods of assessment;
  3. Gather evidence; and
  4. Use results to make improvements.
